Everything the Bathroom Needs. Nothing It Doesn't.
We start with a free in-home visit. We measure the bathroom, talk through your day, and build a flat-rate quote for exactly what makes sense — not a package, not an upsell.
- Curbless walk-in showers — barrier-free entry, non-slip tile, bench seating, handheld showerhead
- Grab bars in studs — rated for 500 lb, positioned for your specific mobility, blocking installed where studs aren't
- Comfort-height toilets & bidets — easier sit and stand, reduced fall risk at transfer
- Anti-scald valves & slip-resistant flooring — code-compliant, ADA-referenced specifications
- Doorway widening — 32"–36" clear opening for wheelchairs, walkers, and transfer aids
Grab bars from $480 installed. Full curbless shower conversion $7,500–$14,000. Flat-rate quote after your free home visit — no change orders for things we should have caught in the assessment.

Install & Walkthrough
Our crew, on your schedule. We clean up every day. When it's done, we walk every change with you.
My father fell in his shower in February. By April he was back home — same house, same morning routine, just safer. The Steady Step crew did exactly what they said, on the days they said. That mattered more than I can explain.

Questions About Bathroom Modifications.
If your question isn't here, just ask when we call. We'd rather answer the same question a hundred times than have you guess.
How much does a bathroom modification cost?
It depends on what we find at the home visit. Professional grab-bar installs run $180–$320 each — proper blocking, studs, correct positioning for your specific mobility. A full curbless shower conversion (demo, waterproofing, tile, bench, handheld showerhead) typically lands between $7,500 and $14,000. Comfort-height toilet swaps run $800–$1,400 installed.
We don't quote sight-unseen. Every number comes after we walk your bathroom with you, and the written quote is flat-rate — no change orders for things we should have caught in the assessment.
How long will work take in my bathroom?
A grab-bar install is typically done in a single visit — two to four hours. A full shower conversion is 4–10 working days on site, depending on tile work, plumbing changes, and whether we're widening a doorway at the same time. We give you the day-by-day calendar with the quote, and we clean up at the end of every workday so the house stays livable throughout.
Does insurance, Medicaid, or a VA benefit cover this?
Often, yes — partially or fully. We handle paperwork for VA HISA grants and Aid & Attendance, Pennsylvania Medicaid waivers (OBRA, CHC, and Act 150), and long-term care insurance reimbursements. Bring whatever paperwork you have to the assessment. We'll tell you what's covered, what applies to this specific project, and what we'd recommend doing first if there's a benefit cap.
